April 28, 2011 -Toronto, Ontario. - Postmedia Inc has featured the UnlimitedViz application ‘Election Night’ on their public website. This Microsoft Azure application brings Elections Canada data to life by allowing for rich integration with Bing Maps, featuring both riding by riding (http://www.canada.com/news/decision-canada/past-results.html) and poll by poll (http://www.canada.com/news/decision-canada/past-results-ridings.html) federal election results.

"In this case, all of the necessary data resided originally in individual files on the Elections Canada site. We've harvested that data and brought it to life through an interactive map. It’s been interesting to watch people’s reactions as they drill down to the street where they live and learn exactly how their particular poll voted. In some cases I’ve seen voters learn that their poll was decided by just one vote. It personalizes the electoral system and we’re hopeful this will result in a stronger voter turnout at the ballot box.”
